Nvidia Expands Humanoid Robot Partnerships to US and European Makers

Nvidia has announced a major expansion of its humanoid robotics partnerships, bringing its GR00T foundation AI platform to leading robot manufacturers in the United States and Europe. The move marks a significant step toward commercializing embodied AI, where AI models interact with the physical world.

New partners include US-based Figure AI and Agility Robotics, as well as European firms 1X Technologies and PAL Robotics. These companies will integrate Nvidia's GR00T AI models into their humanoid robots, enabling capabilities such as natural language understanding, object manipulation, and autonomous navigation in dynamic environments. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang described the expansion as a pivotal moment for the robotics industry. The GR00T platform, unveiled earlier this year, provides a standardized AI backbone that allows robot makers to focus on hardware design and specialized applications rather than building AI systems from scratch. The partnerships come with a new hardware offering: the Jetson Thor robotics computer, designed specifically for humanoid robots. It packs 20x the AI performance of its predecessor and consumes half the power, making it suitable for battery-powered autonomous robots. Commercial deployment of partner robots with GR00T capabilities is expected in early 2028.
