PlayStation Plus July 2026 Free Games Include Modern Warfare 3

Sony has announced the PlayStation Plus Essential monthly games for July 2026, with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 leading a lineup that also includes indie darlings and a cult-classic RPG. Subscribers across all PlayStation Plus tiers will be able to download Modern Warfare 3, the critically acclaimed action-RPG Hades, and the atmospheric puzzle-platformer Inside starting July 7. The games will be available until August 3.

Modern Warfare 3's inclusion marks the first time a full-priced Call of Duty title has been offered on PlayStation Plus Essential. The game, which launched in November 2023, features a complete campaign, multiplayer, and the open-world Zombies mode. Its addition represents a significant value for subscribers, given that the game still retails for $69.99. "This is a big get for PlayStation Plus," said industry analyst Michael Pachter. "Call of Duty is the biggest franchise in gaming, and offering Modern Warfare 3 on Essential suggests Sony is willing to spend heavily to keep subscribers engaged."

Hades, the Supergiant Games rogue-like that won numerous Game of the Year awards, needs no introduction. The game combines fast-paced combat with rich Greek mythology storytelling and has sold millions of copies since its 2020 release. Inside, developed by Playdead, is a hauntingly beautiful puzzle-platformer that has been widely praised for its atmospheric storytelling and ingenious level design. It fills out the lineup as a shorter but memorable experience. PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers will also gain access to additional titles in mid-July, including the recently released Stellar Blade and a selection of classic PlayStation RPGs.
