Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Unveiled at Unpacked: Triple Fold Display and 200MP Camera

Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy Z Fold 8 at its July 2026 Galaxy Unpacked event, introducing a groundbreaking triple-fold design that expands the foldable category in unprecedented ways.

The Galaxy Z Fold 8 features Samsung's innovative triple-fold mechanism, allowing the device to transform from a compact 6.2-inch smartphone to a massive 10-inch tablet. The Z-fold pattern uses two hinges with Samsung's proprietary Armor Aluminum frame and Gorilla Glass Victus 3 protection. Under the hood, the Z Fold 8 is powered by the Exynos 2600 chipset (Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 in select markets), paired with 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage. The 200MP primary camera uses pixel-binning technology to produce 12.5MP images with exceptional dynamic range and low-light performance.

Samsung's new AI Photo Engine automatically detects scenes and adjusts color science in real-time, with a dedicated Portrait Studio mode that creates studio-quality lighting effects. The 7,000mAh dual-battery system supports 65W wired charging and 25W wireless charging — the fastest charging on any Samsung device to date. The IP58 water resistance rating means it can survive submersion in up to 1.5 meters of water for 30 minutes. The Z Fold 8 also introduces Galaxy AI 2.0, which deeply integrates into the foldable experience. AI Live Translate works across all apps in real-time, AI Summary can summarize web pages and documents across the expansive 10-inch display, and the AI Photo Editor uses generative fill for seamless image editing.
